About the Book

Roller Coaster

At the tender age of six, I vividly recall several of my most harrowing dream experiences from my visits to Lakeside and Elitch Gardens amusement parks in Denver, Colorado. These visits were so influential that they haunted me with several nightmare dreams throughout my childhood, and these memories have stayed with me to this day. The first of these experiences occurred at Lakeside Amusement Park on a warm September day in 1967, and they instilled in me a deep sense of fear and apprehension toward the world around me. As a result, I grew especially close to my mother, Susan, at a very young age.

To begin my memoir, this nightmare dream is surreal and appropriately written in bold italic letters, Roller Coaster, for its raw power in two words. Although, a one-word version of Rollercoaster, is also acceptable grammatically as one compound word by Artificial Intelligence. To whom is mostly, correct?

The choices we often have in life are matters of personal opinion. These concepts are often trapped and/or forever changing. Otherwise known or described as the Twilight Zone, due to our English language lack of symmetry. And I apologize for my misgivings – because with each decision my mother and I seemingly made when I was a young boy, we were simply unaware of the profound consequences of what’s looming ahead of us, as we are passengers on an unforgiving ride.
